Salary:  AUD $141,996.00 per annum plus Superannuation

Employment status: Permanent 

Employment arrangement: Full Time

Location: Sydney CBD

Option to work under a 19 day month arrangement

Candidates are invited to apply for the role of Manager Planning Policy in the Strategic Planning and Urban Design unit.

An opportunity awaits you to improve Sydney’s liveability, productivity and sustainability for the residents, workers and visitors of this global city.

This exciting and challenging role will be responsible for ensuring the City delivers high quality, timely and cost effective outcomes consistent with Council's vision.

You will lead a team of planners across a busy program of strategic planning and related policy development that includes strategic precinct investigations, preparing planning proposals, developing innovative planning controls, contributing to planning control updates and contributions planning.

You will lead the communication of the team's work, manage resources to meet timeframes, engage with colleagues and stakeholders, and develop the experience, skills and capabilities of team members.

With relevant tertiary qualifications, you will have experience in leading a team and developing and implementing high quality strategic planning outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will have the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. You will also have good people management skills and a strong understanding of how to achieve good outcomes through the land use planning framework.
